Lingerie Shower

I’m going to back track a few months and share with you my sisters lingerie shower.
This was planned on short notice, so I searched around the house to see what I could find for inspiration…. I found a black table cloth, 1 white lace curtain panel, and these candle stick holders...

Pink and black were the chosen colors because well… they are sexy, right!?!
I bought the napkins and plates at Hobby Lobby (LOVE this store). If you need more than 1 pack of napkins and want some style buy a decorative pack and a solid color pack and mix them. The decorative ones are more expensive so this saves you a little money.

The candlestick holders needed some color… HOT PINK… When they dried I glued some upside down black oven eye covers (is that what they are called??) to them. I used 1 large  cover and 1 small cover. The black eye covers came in a pack of 4 for about $4.00. I put parchment paper on the top to put the truffles on.

Ok, so I hot glued one holder on top of the other with the parchment paper attached, are you still with me? This means that when I am done with them I just peel the parchment paper and glue apart and I still have 2 holders.  Although, if it was knocked over it would have all fallen apart… but I didn’t think about this at the time and it didn’t happen :)
I have seen these lingerie cookies around the web and just had to try them!
Aren’t they just awesome!!
Confession… I cheated... I bought some ready to bake cookie dough at the store. You know, the kind in a tube? I just didn’t trust myself to make the dough and I was pressed for time. I started off with a metal heart shaped cookie cutter but found out fast that I needed to warp it to make the shape I was going for.

The panty cookies are the heart shape with the point cut off.  My sister decorated them and she did an awesome job!

Here it is all put together...

There was a lot more food on other tables....  I am so thankful for the family and friends that helped out with the food and getting everything set up!

My sister and her husband had their wedding reception this past weekend. They chose a beautiful restored Victorian house to host the party in. My Aunt, who is very talented, was in charge of pretty much everything… food, putting the decor together… I’ve gone blank on what all she did, but she did it and it was great!

Remember my last post where I was painting the tree limbs… well I got them all done and my Aunt put it together. I was enjoying the party so much that I just took a couple of snapshots with the thought of coming back to take more thought-out photos. Well, by the time I remembered to do that they were cleaning up and had taken them down. I could have kicked myself! Have I mentioned I procrastinate :)

Nature looks pretty in pink

I wanted to give you a sneak peek of something I'm working on tonight :)

My sister had a small beautiful wedding and now they are having the reception to celebrate with all of their friends and family. My Aunt and I are doing the centerpieces. There are so many cute ideas online! Why go out and spend lots of money when you can use what nature gives you, right?!?  So, I found most of these limbs off of a tree that had fallen in our yard… and some I chopped off of a tree. I know! I know! I am a tree lover too, but they were so unique… I needed them! I got the shade of paint she liked and painted away.

Spray paint would have been so much easier, but you are limited on color and I try to stay away from it when I can... throwing those bottles away makes me feel so wasteful!

These need to be done by tomorrow morning and I'm just now painting them.

 PROCRASTINATOR  ALERT!!

I know better than to wait till the last minute, but it seem to happen every time...

My First Post

I went to a yard sale that was about to close down. If you have been to a lot of yard sales you know furniture usually goes first. This table was displaying some toys and I figured it wasn't for sale. It was my lucky day!! Score!! $5.00. It did have some scratches, but I can take care of that! I had plans to make it my own :) Let's just add some color and some personality :)

This tray was at a consignment store. It wasn't pretty... and that's putting it nicely :)

I had been looking for a vanity mirror tray and I just happened to find one on discount at a second hand store... LOVE IT!!

Put them all together and what do you get......
